Wood Door Machining

Twenty years ago most commercial wood doors were sold as blank slabs to be machined on site by carpenters. Today we sell our stock doors already undercut, bevelled and pre-machined for hinges and latch sets. We are also able to order in doors requiring lite kits and louvers.

Need a stock door customized quickly? Lockdoor can help. At our custom wood shop, we provide the following services:

  • Undercutting to a custom length
  • Prep for latch sets
  • Cut out custom lite kits
  • Cut out laminate doors for lite kits and louvers
  • Provide 20 minute fire labels
  • Re-rail stock doors
  • Machine doors for mortise and cipher locks, flush bolts, roller latches, panic preps, soss hinges and perko closers.

Wood Doors Expertise

We know wood. Check any manufacturer's website and you will find a wide variety of doors ranging from 1 3/8” hardboard, rail and stile embossed and French doors to 1 3/4” flush masonite and hardwood veneer. However knowing the kind of door you want does not guarantee that you will get the right door.

Architectural wood doors are made to order and then custom machined based on instructions provided by the supplier. If the machining is wrong, the door is scrap and the client has to wait for a re-order. Therefore, who orders the door really does matter.

At Lockdoor, we know the machining specs because we custom machine doors in house; we provide a detailed shop drawing to confirm all dimensions, and we work with the same templates that we use to order your doors.
